to remind myself
I will take each year as it comes, but I will never take you for granted.
-Wedding Vow #15
Things could be much worse. Many people have lost their jobs, lost their homes, lost their businesses and their pride. Luckily, this hasn’t yet happened to us. However, since we’ve returned from our honeymoon it feels as though we’ve been hit from every direction. Problems with the car, job stress, moving woes, changing tax laws, etc. I’ve been trying to keep a happy face. I do believe it will get better.
Last night Dalin told me that he wishes it wasn’t hitting us all at once. I told him – maybe it’s not that bad…I said, “It’s kind of like getting a nose job and a boob job at the same time. Double the pain, shorter time period.” :) I was happy to make him smile.
For me, times like these always shed light on the important things. We have a big support system. We have our health. We have we each other. We should never take those things for granted. If I had a few giant houses, 18 new cars, and no taxes to pay (I’d be John McCain – hhahahaa)…j/k….I’ll start over….If I had a few giant houses, 18 new cars, and no taxes to pay – but was alone, without the love of my husband, our family, or our friends, it would be worthless.
So – today‘s post is just to remind myself of my wedding vow #15:
I will take each year as it comes, but I will never take you for granted.

We’re home! I’m upset I haven’t had the time to post since we were in Madrid but it’s been so hectic since we’ve returned. I have so much to share about the trip but that will be delayed because…well…I feel the need to mix it up a little, so you’ll need to stay tuned.
I definitely love Europe – but there is nothing better than coming home to familiar faces, places, and FOOD! You don’t realize how good Mexican food is until you can’t have it. I was also anxious to get home and catch up on all the edge-of-your-seat political news I missed while I was gone (almost as important as Mexican food – ha). I can’t believe what is happening to our economy, it is so terrible, yet especially interesting being that I am employed by “the enemy” – a financial institution. Luckily, it is of the safest and the most successful even in this economic environment. I am thankful to work where I do.
That was a tangent.
Back to my love of San Diego, one of the other things I missed was seeing friends – I love spending time with my husband SO much – but “girl time” is always a necessity every once in a while. Even though only two weeks had past, to me, it felt like I had some serious catching up to do so Friday night dinner with the girls was a perfect end to the week (it was Mexican food, too!). To make it even better, after dinner we headed on over to the Del Mar Powerhouse to see Jennifer at her wedding reception (we crash each other’s receptions…long story, I’ll tell it later) . She looked breathtaking, the venue looked perfect, and the cake was NOM NOM NOM.
All of her hard work planning the event was worth it, it was gorgeous.
I have a pic to share…it is my VERY FIRST TIME USING PHOTOSHOP, so please don’t judge me. Luckily, it’s really hard to ruin a picture of such an adorable couple.
Congratulations lovebirds!!
A beautiful couple at a beautiful wedding
…so happy to be home…
