We’re home! I’m upset I haven’t had the time to post since we were in Madrid but it’s been so hectic since we’ve returned. I have so much to share about the trip but that will be delayed because…well…I feel the need to mix it up a little, so you’ll need to stay tuned.
I definitely love Europe – but there is nothing better than coming home to familiar faces, places, and FOOD! You don’t realize how good Mexican food is until you can’t have it. I was also anxious to get home and catch up on all the edge-of-your-seat political news I missed while I was gone (almost as important as Mexican food – ha). I can’t believe what is happening to our economy, it is so terrible, yet especially interesting being that I am employed by “the enemy” – a financial institution. Luckily, it is of the safest and the most successful even in this economic environment. I am thankful to work where I do.
That was a tangent.
Back to my love of San Diego, one of the other things I missed was seeing friends – I love spending time with my husband SO much – but “girl time” is always a necessity every once in a while. Even though only two weeks had past, to me, it felt like I had some serious catching up to do so Friday night dinner with the girls was a perfect end to the week (it was Mexican food, too!). To make it even better, after dinner we headed on over to the Del Mar Powerhouse to see Jennifer at her wedding reception (we crash each other’s receptions…long story, I’ll tell it later) . She looked breathtaking, the venue looked perfect, and the cake was NOM NOM NOM.
All of her hard work planning the event was worth it, it was gorgeous.
I have a pic to share…it is my VERY FIRST TIME USING PHOTOSHOP, so please don’t judge me. Luckily, it’s really hard to ruin a picture of such an adorable couple.
Congratulations lovebirds!!
A beautiful couple at a beautiful wedding
…so happy to be home…
Do It for the Kids
There is no trust more sacred than the one the world holds with children. There is no duty more important than ensuring that their rights are respected, that their welfare is protected, that their lives are free from fear and want and that they grow up in peace.

Sunday is fun day! For all who live in San Diego, I just wanted to give you a heads up that the Kids Walk for Peace and Friendship Festival is being held this Sunday, Sept 21 at Balboa Park. The event is an annual festival/fundraiser for one of my favorite non-profits, Kids For Peace. We went last year and it was a blast; we saw musical, dance, and other artistical performances by the kids as well as some great adult speakers and performers.
My mom is on the board of directors and her note regarding the event is as follows:
As you know, I am passionate about our ability to cultivate a more peaceful culture through demonstrating to our children a language of non-violent conflict resolution. We invite you to join us on a fun-filled, non-protest adventure in Balboa Park celebrating and honoring our children and their future leadership in promoting a more peaceful future. Please help me reach my fundraising goal by clicking the link below that will take you to my secure page where you can make a tax deductible donation big or small to help change the course of our future. Do it for our children. And it’s a whole lot of fun. Feel free to forward this email to your family and friends so that they may register and enjoy a day of joy and family friendly youth inspired events. I hope to see you there, and if not, please help me raise my personal goal. In peace, Janice.
